The story was prevented from being told because of a D-Notice government gagging order, allegedly to protect a prominent member of the British Royal Family. According to the producers, this movie is intended to reveal the truth for the first time, although it includes significant elements of fiction and the extent to which it represents historical fact is difficult to determine.

The film stars Philip Seymour Hoffman and Laura Linney and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. It had a limited release on November 28, 2007.

After drifting apart emotionally and geographically over the years, two single siblings Wendy (Linney) and Jon (Hoffman) must band together to care for an elderly parent (Philip Bosco). Visiting their father in his nursing home and their father’s eventual death helps them to better deal with their relationships with others.

Untraceable (torrent) is a 2008 thriller film which stars Diane Lane, Joseph Cross, Billy Burke, and Colin Hanks. It was directed by Gregory Hoblit and is distributed by Screen Gems. The film is a social commentary on Internet schadenfreude.

Set in Portland, Oregon, the film involves a serial killer who rigs contraptions that kill his victims based on the number of hits received by a website (”www.killwithme.com”) that features a live streaming video of the victim. Millions of people log on, hastening the victims’ violent deaths. Lane plays the protagonist, a cybercop named Jennifer Marsh, who pieces the mystery together, at great risk to the personal well-being of herself and her family.

Waking Life (torrent) is a digitally rotoscoped and animated film, directed by Richard Linklater and made in 2001. The entire film was shot using digital video and then a team of artists using computers drew stylized lines and colors over each frame.

“Waking Life follows the dream(s) of one man and his attempt to find and discern the absolute difference between waking life and the dreamworld. While trying to figure out a way to wake up, he runs into many people on his way; some of which offer one sentence asides on life, others delving deeply into existential questions and life’s mysteries. We become the main character. It becomes our dream and our questions being asked and answered. Can we control our dreams? What are they telling us about life? About death? About ourselves and where we come from and where we are going? The film does not answer all these for us. Instead, it inspires us to ask the questions and find the answers ourselves” (IMDB).

The Mix-Up (torrent) is the Beastie Boys’ seventh studio album.

On May 1, 2007, an e-mail sent to those on the Beastie Boys’ mailing list revealed the album is all instrumental.

Mike D said that “even though The Mix-Up is a “post-punk instrumental” album, the Beasties have no plans to ditch vocals for good. In fact, they are currently planning another version of the album that will feature collaborations with “a pretty wide array” of “mostly newer” vocalists.

If I Did It (torrent) is a canceled book by O. J. Simpson, in which he puts forth a hypothetical description of the murders for which he was acquitted in a 1995 criminal trial, but found financially liable for in a civil trial. The book was announced in mid-November 2006 for a November 30, 2006 release, but intense public criticism led to the cancellation of the book’s publication and a related television interview, both from divisions of News Corporation (HarperCollins/Regan Books and Fox Broadcasting Company, respectively). According to a Newsweek story, all 400,000 printed copies were recalled for destruction, save for one locked away in a vault at News Corp. While the book has been almost impossible to find on the secondary market as a result, one copy did show up on eBay on January 15, 2007, with a starting bid of $1500, and sold for over $65,000 fueling speculation about whether News Corp. was able to destroy all printed copies. James Wolcott of Vanity Fair obtained a “pristine hardcover” of the book for a review published in January 2007.
