How-to Survive As A Speculator – Adam Hamilton

An excellent read:

”In order to ensure that this common speculation hazard doesn’t crush you, there are crucial steps to take so you not only survive but thrive as a speculator. They involve emotional steeling, position-limited portfolio construction, mechanical profit and loss management, and a carefully cultivated understanding of the true random nature of the tactical markets.”

Translations

I noticed that I’ve been getting a lot of traffic from places all over the world these days so I decided to add a couple “translation” buttons on the right side of my site.

Currently I only have ones for French, Italian and Spanish but I’ll be adding more when I get the chance.  If you are interested in doing this for your blog see a great explanation here.

Once I get a chance I plan on adding the ability to subscribe from some of the new homepage’s that have been gaining traction also – like pageflakes and my favourite netvibes.

Seagate – Drive to Design Contest – Details

This contest sounds interesting. I’m constantly inventing things and now I’ve got my big chance to have one of my ideas become a global success story – the next iPod perhaps??

“Design your own product using a miniature 20 Gig hard drive and win $5000 for your winning idea.”

The miniature hard drive should be used to………

Leave a Message!

Today’s post is designed to receive a bit of feedback.  I believe there are around 35 people that are following this blog’s rss feed.

I’d love to get a comment from those who follow along as opposed to those that stumble in through search engine traffic.

Even just a “hello!” would make me smile.

Warren Buffet Gives All His Money To the Gates Foundation

The 2nd richest man in the world, Warren Buffet, is giving his money to the 1st richest man in the world – Bill Gates (and his wife).

My favourite quotes from the article:

"Who wouldn't select Tiger Woods to take his place in a high-stakes golf game?

"…A very rich person should leave his kids enough to do anything but not enough to do nothin."

RFID Monitored Herbarium

The Herbarium is a design concept that makes growing herbs on your windowsill as automated and easy as making a pot of coffee – even for the non-botanically-inclined.

Each pad is also equipped with a RFID tag, which is monitored by the Herbarium to ensure optimal growing conditions for each individual plant (whether basil, thyme, sage, etc.), providing a little extra help for those of us without green thumbs. (link)

Man Alters Diet – Monkey Chow Food Only

Can a human subsist on a constant diet of pelletized, nutritionally complete food like puppies and monkeys do? For the good of human kind, I'm about to find out. On June 3, 2006, I began my week of eating nothing but monkey chow: "a complete and balanced diet for the nutrition of primates, including the great apes."
