Below is a clip of Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia, explaining how Wikipedia’s collaborative system works and why it succeeds.

More of Jay-Z’s finest…

Kingdom Come cover
Kingdom Come (torrent) is the album from Jay-Z, scheduled to be released on November 21, 2006. The title is inspired by a DC Comics miniseries called Kingdom Come, about Superman returning from retirement to save the world. The album will signify the end of Jay-Z’s 2003 retirement. Production supplied by Kanye West, Just Blaze, Dr. Dre and The Neptunes, and guest appearances are scheduled for West as well as Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin. The title track, produced by Just Blaze, samples “Super Freak” by the late Rick James.

“I bought these on impulse at the Bose store because they had just come out that day and Bose has a 30 day return guarantee…and I can tell you that I will NOT be returning them. These are WELL worth the money and possibly…dare I say…underpriced compared to the competition..”

Ken Jennings – Blog and Ebay Charity Auction

I’m a huge Jeopardy fan.  If you are too you may remember a man by the name of Ken Jennings winning 74 straight games in 2004.

“Kenneth Wayne Jennings III (born May 23, 1974) holds the record for the longest winning streak on the syndicated game show Jeopardy!, as well as other records. Jennings won 74 games before he was defeated by Nancy Zerg on his 75th appearance. His total earnings on Jeopardy! are $3,022,700 ($2,520,700 in winnings and a $2,000 consolation during his original run, and $500,000 in the Jeopardy! Ultimate Tournament of Champions).”

Ken has started blogging and I am thoroughly enjoying his writing.

He is auctioning off this for charity:

“Hi, this is Ken Jennings, aka “that guy was on Jeopardy! for half of 2004.” I recently blogged about a problem unique to C-list TV fame: what does one do with a huge styrofoam sculpture of one’s head? It’s been sitting in our garage for months, and now we’re moving. Several people suggested I put it up on eBay for charity, in case anyone was interested in a one-of-a-kind piece of a TV memorabalia, that also happens to be the size of a riding lawnmower. So that’s exactly what I’m going to do.”

Overheard in New York + Google Maps = Overplot

Overplot
From the About page:

“I’ve been a fan of Overheard in New York for a while. At some point, it occurred to me that each quote has a pretty precise location attached to it and that it would be cool to plot all of them on a map. I eventually got motivated enough to actually do it. The result is overplot, a Google Maps API-powered visualization of all of the quotes I could get my hands on.”

This is just awesome.
